NORWALK – Deputies searched today for a gunman who shot and killed a cyclist in Norwalk, authorities said.

The victim was riding a bicycle east in the 11200 block of Ferina Street around 6 p.m. Monday when he was confronted by two males in an eastbound vehicle, said Sgt. David Infante of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

There was an argument and the vehicle’s driver shot the victim in the chest with a handgun, Infante said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

The vehicle seen at the shooting scene was described as “dark in color,” Infante said.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
