Authorities have identified a bicyclist killed in a traffic accident as Wanju Yu, 74, of Cupertino.

Yu was riding his bike Tuesday morning in front of De Anza College in Cupertino when a car struck him, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sung said.

The driver apparently was turning into the college campus from Steens Creek Boulevard east of Highway 85, when the vehicle hit the cyclist, Sung said.

He has not been arrested and the case is still under investigation.

The route had a bike lane.

Paramedics, along with witnesses to the collision tried to revive the cylcist, but only managed to get his pulse back briefly.
He was pronounced dead at Stanford Medical Center.
