New Port Richey, Florida — A teenaged bicyclist is hospitalized with critical injuries after being struck by a car on U.S. Highway 19, the Florida Highway Patrol said Thursday night.

The victim was identified as Tyler Donohoe, 16, of New Port Richey. The FHP said he was not wearing a helmet.

The FHP said he was struck by a Mustang driven by Daniel Holbrook, 57, of Port Richey.

Donohoe was crossing U.S. 19 at Coventry Boulevard in front of a stopped school bus whose stop paddles were activated. The Mustang failed to stop and struck him, the FHP said.
