A woman who was struck by a garbage truck last week while bicycling in northeast Scottsdale has died from her injuries.

Cindie Holub, 53, of Scottsdale, died at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn on Monday, police said Tuesday.

Holub was injured as she was riding her bicycle eastbound in the 10500 block of Dynamite Boulevard last Wednesday

According to police, the driver of a Waste Management garbage truck also traveling east attempted to pass Holub. The front of the truck struck her bike as he passed, police said.

Holub suffered injuries to her back and pelvis and also suffered internal bleeding, police said. She had remained hospitalized since the accident.

The 50-year-old truck driver has not been cited in the accident, which remains under investigation, police said.
