WILDWOOD - A 46-year-old Wildwood man remained hospitalized Monday after his bicycle collided with a car at Baker and Pacific avenues earlier in the day.

Police Lt. Terry Oslar said several witnesses saw a bicyclist, identified as Leonard Cryan, traveling along Pacific Avenue when a four-door sedan driven by Roshanya Miles, 35, also of Wildwood, went through the intersection on a green light.

Cryan, who had a red light, failed to stop and crashed into the driver side of Miles’ vehicle, Oslar said. Police were called to the scene at 7:59 a.m.

Oslar said the collision threw Cryan from the bicycle and the back of his head hit the pavement. He was not wearing a helmet.
Cryan lost consciousness at some point and suffered severe head injuries, Oslar said. He was taken by helicopter to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he remained in critical condition Monday afternoon, hospital spokesman Frank Tedesco said.

The impact smashed the driver-side window of Miles’ car.

Oslar said Miles would not face any charges related to the accident, but Cryan may be issued a summons.
