About Rick Bernardi

Rick Bernardi has enjoyed cycling since childhood, and as an adult, developed an appreciation of the synergy of cyclist and bicycle, whether riding the country backroads of San Jose, California for pleasure, or commuting to work and school in Silicon Valley. Rick continues that love of cycling today, combined now with a love of the artistry of the classic bikes he grew up with, and a commitment to do his share in lessening his carbon footprint in the era of global warming.

Rick has degrees in Humanities (with an Ecological Studies emphasis) from New College of California in San Francisco, and Law (with a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law) from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. Reflecting his interest in environmental sustainability, Rick views cycling advocacy and the protection of cyclists’ rights as a means of creating the space necessary for the transition to a sustainable society.
