As a girl, Francesca Bannerman treasured her Bottechia 10-speed. On it, she flew down the once-grand avenues of her native Buffalo, New York to the crumbling industrial waterfront and over the arching bridge to Canada.
That simple joy – riding a bicycle – has been a constant in her life. Nowadays, she rides the neighborhoods and shoreline of San Francisco, with occasional forays to Marin. She commutes by bike between home and office. She remains an enthusiastic cyclist because it is stimulating and fun.
But in our car-centric society, it takes persistence and a certain contrariness to hold onto that simple joy. And it takes experience and skill to represent cyclists who have been injured on the streets. A police report may blame the cyclist, literally adding insult to injury. Careful investigation of the mechanics of the collision often tells a different story. Francesca’s insight and tenacity gives her clients the support they need to succeed.
