Bryce spent the first ten years of his practice as an attorney defending individuals and institutions in a wide range of personal injury and business disputes often defending against catastrophic construction site injuries. This experience taught him the importance of looking at both the potential liability and damages at a granular level to assess his client’s responsibility for an injury. He also developed a close working relationships with many claims adjusters, those who hold the purse strings at insurance companies.
Bryce then spent the next ten years of his practice defending against professional liability claims, primarily defending doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice cases. This experience gave him the opportunity to develop a keen understanding of how the practice of medicine works, from the initial presentation by an injured patient, the evaluation of injuries, the development of a course of treatment, the need for follow up care, and ultimately, as to someone injured in an accident, the potential for a complete recovery.
In 2022, Bryce made the decision to change the course of his career and indeed the focus of his work by joining the accomplished trial team at Coopers LLP. He is now dedicated to using his experience to help those who suffered injury at the hands of others, to ensure that those who are responsible are held accountable. He uses his medical experience to ensure that his clients are fairly and fully compensated for their injuries. And he is able to communicate with the decision makers at insurance companies in a clear and compelling manner they understand.
Bryce grew up in Santa Cruz and Northern Mendocino Counties, attended High School in Santa Cruz, earned a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He splits his time between Oakland, his long-time home, and Monte Rio, where he has found a love of restoring an old vacation home and the Russian River. When he isn’t working or watching and coaching his sons’ sporting events, he can be found on a bicycle or his vintage BMW motorcycle.
